Hello,

I was wondering if I can study while waiting for my PR card. Is CoPR would be enough to prove that my status is a permanent resident? I have a valid open-work permit but it restricts me to participate in any educational stuffs. I would like to make sure because I dont want to get in a program not knowing I will pay international student fees, which is crazy expensive. Kindly advice.

Thanks in advance!

Seems like you’ve got your Copr already. So you can go ahead and apply for schools like a local and pay the domestic fees only. Congrats!

The Copr should count as your landing document and it should be sufficient. You can always contact the school that you’re going to and see what they need as a proof of PR status.
