can I study online from a DLI while on PGWP

I would like to know can I still study in online course while on PGWP?

The course length would be 4 month for one semester, there are 4 semesters. According to the online program's admission office, they said you don't need to apply for study permit for their online program. The program is an institute with DLI, it's just they offer study permit only with exception of their online program. I thought you must need to get a study permit to study in Canada, so I get really confused.

I don't wish to do anything unlawful because I am currently on my PGWP, and want to apply for permanant residence in the future. Any help would be appreciated.

You can take a program that has a total duration of six months or less without a study permit. If the total duration of the program is more than six months, you need a study permit.

You can study online without a study permit if outside of Canada. For an online 4 semester course inside of Canada you would need a study permit.
