Hi. I applied my common law visa around 9 months ago. The next step I've been told is to wait for a request for my passport. At present I am living in Vietnam but my working contract is coming to an end in the next 6 weeks.
My questions and concerns are:
1. Can I fly to Canada and wait (obviously not work) while the final steps of my application are processed? I have a temporary residency visa that will cover me for 6 months.
2. If I fly to Canada under the pretense that I will sit and wait, do I need to show that I will leave the country or can I simply book a flight into Canada?
3. If I choose to leave Vietnam (my case is being handled by a visa office in Singapore) and wait it out in South Africa, how does this affect the visa office and in turn the processing times?
