Hello,

I am a Permanent Resident of Canada, I got married and moved to USA because my husband is working in USA. Now my questions are

1.Can I sponsor my husband from outside Canada
2.I am outside Canada means no job in Canada so is it gonna be a problem?

please reply back to me if anyone face the same kind of problem

Thank you

as a permanent resident yourself, in order to sponsor your husband you must be physically living in canada. if you want to sponsor your husband, you must first move back to canada. a job is not required for spousal sponsorship, so your employment status is irrelevant. your hsuband can either stay in the us or enter canada as a visitor while his application is processing.

Thank you for your reply,

Do I have to stay until he gets the PR or I can go back to USA while the application under processing ?

Thank you

as a pr, you must maintain residence in canada for the entire duration of the application process. if you submit the application noting a canadian residence and are really residing in the US, you are risking your application.

During processing you can leave Canada only for short/temporary vacations. Anything longer than a 3-4 week trip, and you risk your app being cancelled due to not residing in Canada.
