Can i sponsor an undeclared child to canada that I wasn’t aware of at the time of my application?

I was sponsored to canada about a year ago through my wife. I just found out that I have a child back home from a one night stand before i met my wife. If dna concludes the child is mine, am i able to sponsor that child as a dependant now?

Since the child was not declared on your own app, you will need to explain the situation and the H&C reasons and hope the visa officer processing the app allows it. But should prepare that your app to sponsor your child may be rejected simply due to the non-declaration.

If this happens, you'd then need to appeal the decision on H&C grounds that you were just recently made aware of the child's existence. I have seen another similar case in the past where this ended up being successful.

This is also of course assuming positive DNA test, and that the mother would allow the child to immigrate to Canada (you obviously can't sponsor the mother).

It depends on the circumstances and why the child was not declared. If it was a deliberate act of omission, the difficulty increases.
