Now that I have received the SA and in the email it states where my VO is (Ottawa), I can send the FBI check to the address, correct? I just need to mention the application# and UCI# in the envelope?

I think that's the next step but I wanted to double check.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

yes, exactly. send it per the instructions in the sponsor approval letter, noting your Name, UCI and file number - even writing a cover letter requesting it to be attached to your file. I would recommend sending it registered mail so you know it was delivered (though don't be surprised if it takes forever to confirm it was delivered).

I'd also include the DOB (date of birth) for cross checking purposes and make sure the envelope says family class (or spousal sponsorship) so they route it directly. And, of course, keep a copy.

As rhcohen2014 mentioned, it takes weeks (i.e., month +) for correspondence to work through the mail rooms so sending it off soon is a great idea!

Thank you very much for your replies. I will send it off via FedEx overnight tomorrow hoping it will be delivered on March 16th(Mon), or at the latest, on March 17th(Tue). FedEx tracking should show the date of delivery right away, and I hope that is good enough and it doesn't matter when they open the package right? FBI check won't expire for another 2 months, but my Japanese police check was issued on December 19th, so I think it will expire on March 19th (or maybe a few days later since February was a shorter month?) Anyway, if they get the letter delivered to them before March 19th, it should be OK, I imagine?

Yes, as long as it arrives at CIC within 3 months of the date written on the police certificate you'll be fine.

FedEx works. I like getting signature receipt. To save you heartache, don't worry if they change the address. It turns out the mail room is actually a building over so FedEx adjusts (or at least adjusted) it.

Cool! Sounds GReaT!!!

Thank you so much for your help!
