Can I return to same employer on a closed work permit

Hi,

I was working with a MNC in Toronto and resigned and moved to India due to family reasons. Is it possible for me to return to the same employer on the closed work permit (valid till Feb 2020) or do they have to file a new work permit ?

Assume this was an ICT. Given that you were transferred back that is a good question. Would you need to be transferred again? Not a common situation but curious to hear what others have to say.
