Hi everyone. I'm new to this so sorry if I've posted in the wrong section. But anyway, me and my girlfriend (fiancé) live in England. We are both English. However my girlfriend has been offered a job in Calgary Canada as a nurse. Our worry is though, because I don't have a certain trade or skilled work only in photography that I may not be able to go with her. We have been together 8 years and wondered is there some sort of visa like a spouse visa but for long term partners that are not married. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi

If you have been living together for at least a year, you are common-law. Common-law partners of skilled foreign workers can apply for an open work permit based on their partner's status.

Is your partner getting a closed work permit based on a positive LMIA?
