Hello all,

I am an express entry applicant and I just received my PPR (passport request) from CIC. I mailed them the passport today and waiting for my CoPR letter. I have a few questions that I was hoping I could get answered.

1. Am I correct when I assume that I have to enter Canada before the expiration date (1 year) of my medical exam?
2. Once I land, I give the customs officer a Canadian address for them to mail me the PR card, right?
3. Once I do give this information, I would be staying in Canada for a week maybe and then I have to travel back to the USA (where I currently reside) and would possibly move permanently the next few months.

My question is if I can leave Canada without actually receiving my PR card in hand without any problems/hassles?

Thanks!

Yes, you can do a soft landing to finish the PR process and leave as soon as you'd like to the States.

And this won't cause any problems in the future, would it?
No, It won't but you will have to wait for PR card to get back in or apply for PRTD.

So I will have my family mail the PR card from Canada to me in the states as soon as they receive it and then travel back to Canada when I actually get it in hand this time. This should work, shouldn't it?

Yes, it's fine.
Just use a good courier service.

Additionally, you can cross the border by land just with your COPR (and Passport), even it could be possible to do it without COPR if immigration officers can check your PR status.
