I am currently on a one year open work visa (no extensions), which will expire in around 3 weeks and is stated on the visa that i must leave Canada by that date.

I have applied for a BC PNP, having just recieved the email stating they are processing the application but it may take upto 12 weeks to process.

Therefore I am guessing I will have to leave Canada until I hear whether the PNP was successful. I just wanted to check this with someone who may know if this is correct? And when entering Canada again, after *hopefully* I receive the paperwork what kind of visa would I receive? Would this allow me to work while applying for the PR.

Thanks Katy

It actually depends on the category of PNP you have applied in. If your BC PNP application is not based on your employer then yes you can go and then when its approved, you will have to apply for PR and then wait for it to come and return to Canada. Just double check which category did you apply in BC PNP and does it have a requirement of having the JOb with employeer as on of the conditions because I believe that if you leave the country then you will lose the job right?
