Can I invite my mother in law for convocation ceremony?

I want to invite my mother in law for convocation ceremony.

I am on implied status currently applied for PGWP and my husband is on work permit(SOWP).

1. Who should be the host — my husband or myself?
2. If I am the host, how can I show my relationship with my mother-in-law, and what should I select in the current visa status dropdown considering that I am on implied status.
3. If my husband is the host, then can my mother-in-law mention that she wants to attend her daughter-in-law’s convocation ceremony in the purpose of travel?
