My spouse is Canadian citizen. He is going to apply spouse sponsorship PR for myself. My current status is open PGWP and almost expired. Can we go to border to apply open work permit for myself? Or I can only apply it by mail? Thanks

Thanks for your reply! If I apply the work permit by mail, do you know how can I extend my health card, Sin number and driver’s license? My work permit will be expired mid of next month. If I apply it by mail, there is no confirmation letter for me to extend above items. I am worrying about that.

You will be on Implied Status after your current permit expires and it will be months before you get any sort of acknowledgement of the app from IRCC. Your SIN doesn't matter, as you can continue to work on an expired SIN and just renew it when you get your new work permit. You will have to check the provincial healthcare and licensing websites to see what they say about Implied Status. Most provinces don't accept it, particularly for health coverage.
