Can I get my Passport back for travelling without withdrawl of my visa app ??

Hi...

I am from Pakistan. I have applied for student visa and I am done with my medical. As you all know the processing time for Pakistan is very unpredictable. Next month I am expecting some tours from my job place.

Can I get back my passport for traveling, without withdrawal of my application ?? and return back my passport as soon as I get back.

Please guide.
