Can I get a new passport to add spouse name on it while the app is in process?

I am from India and the outland application is in Application Received state (moved to NDVO) after SA, Medical and Biometrics.

Can I get a new passport to add spouse name? Would that bring any issues to the application?

1. No, CIC doesn't care if your spouses name is on the passport or not.

Actually, I need to get a PCC from the passport office and it can only contains the data same as the passport which currently shows myself as single (no spouse name). So, can I get a new passport when my application is already in process?
