Hello. I have been in Canada for about 7 months as a visitor staying with my fiancé. I have applied to a Canadian college and have paid all my tuition fees. The only step left is getting my study permit. I applied to extend my stay as a visitor to maintain legal status and be able to continue cohabitating with my fiancé. Well, here’s where it gets tricky. Because of how long the processing time is for visitor extensions I probably won’t hear back in time because my studies will be starting soon. Could I still go to the POE (I’m a US citizen) and get my study permit to begin my first year of school? I’m really worried that they will tell me no because I already have applied to extend my stay. I have proof of my application being received, and the receipt that I paid the fee. What should I do?
