Can I enter Canada with a pending visa application?

Hi Guys,

I am still waiting for my working holiday visa to be approved. (stage 1 is complete, just waiting on the acceptance letter for stage 2, I'm assuming the strike has delayed the process).

I have a flight booked to Vancouver on the 1st October but I'm thinking it may not come in time, does anyone know if I can enter Canada without the visa being approved yet or will they not let me in the country with a pending visa?

Yes you can. But you will need to leave Canada and re-enter to activate the work visa.

This is assuming that you are visa-exempt for Canada or already have some alternative visa in place.
