Hi,

I applied under FSW2 class in 2010 at Buffalo. I was wondering if I could do before they actually request it? I am expecting the MR around February 2012?.I have my client ID with me.

Please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Well you can do a medical check up with your family doctor to see if you are in good health. However Immigration medical must be conducted by a Designated Medical Practitioner as published on CIC. These doctors would not proceed to do an Immigration medical unless otherwise you have been instructed to do so, and the relevant from for the medical test should be on your hand as well. Once done medicals are valid for one year through the rest of the process. If the process delays for any reason your visa office have the right to request you to a fresh medical test as well. So relax and wait till you receive the request to conduct your medical.

Hi rstd,
There is a thread about advance medicals on this forum. sttn is right, some DMP will not agree to conduct medicals before you receive instructions from the VO but there are a number of people on this forum who have done so and benefitted. Look through the threads and I am sure you would benefit from the wealth of information on this forum.

All the best,

The DMP should not perform the medical unless you have the CIC forms with you, so the quick answer is "no". Since the DMP sends the medical results to the visa office, and the visa office's medical services division won't process medical results that they haven't requested - I can't see any way this can be done (although as a few people have reported - ALLEGEDLY it has been done occasionally).

But even if you could, why potentially waste all that money when you don't know for sure that your application will get to the medical request stage? In the unfortunate circumstance that your application is rejected during processing, you will have wasted quite a lot of money getting medicals done in advance.

Most medicals can be booked within a few weeks - sometimes within a few days - of receiving medical requests. You wouldn't really be saving much time doing them in advance - since the processing at CIC is the bottleneck and they won't process them before they've requested them, even if there were a way to get them done in advance.
