can i carry alcohal and cigrettes with me

hello after long time i got my visa for newzeland. i have some doubts please help me regarding them
1) my friend who is in nz is asking me to bring alcohal and cigrettes with me from duty free, can i take them them,or is it ilegal?
2)ican i carry my soldering iron ,solder wire and one laptop cooling pad(i have built it my own, so can i carry it??)

You can take couple of boxes of cigarettes with you. Not sure about the alcohol

Really??? you have just got into canada and you want to be facing troubles?? Well canada it is really strict and it means that you will either get in trouble or have to pay for what you are bringing in. Definitely, not worth taking the risk

Alcohol : Yes, only if bought from duty free and they'll give you a tamper proof bag for you to carry the bottles.
Cigarattes : Yes, only till a certain number of boxes. Again, its preferable you buy it from duty free to avoid any hassle.
