Hi,
My wife and I are both permanent residents in Canada. My wife has a cousin in her home country of Guinea in West Africa who would also like to come and live with us in Canada to help care for our children so my wife can work.
I know from research that we can't sponsor her directly under the Family Class as cousins do not meet the criteria, however I am wondering if there is anything we can do to help her to come here?
TIA.

Only option I see is to bring her here as a caregiver for your children on a temp work permit. This will require her to have the required education or work experience to qualify. You will have to obtain an LMIA and meet the income and other requirements to hire her.

It also can be hard to bring a family member as a caregiver because the program was exploited before.

Yes there might be other options. It depends on the province you live. Some provinces do have PNP programs where people with relatives in Canada can apply for PNP (for example Manitoba or New Brunswick). Of course there might be other criteria for such PNP (like education or work experience).
So you might be able to help there.
She can also qualify under EE itself (this will depend on her education, work experience and language skills).
