I have an old V1 (visitor) visa that I applied for in 2018 and is still valid up to 2021. Recently, I got an offer for an intern student position in a research institute in Canada. I want to apply for the short-term (120-day) work permit exemption for researchers. Should I apply a new and special temporary resident visa? Could I apply for the work permit exemption with my old V1 visa just at a port of entry?
