Can I apply for two different categories as same time?

Hello,


I have go through some post, but i could not able to find proper answer. So if someone can help in my problem.

Few months ago my wife has put her file in self employed category for PR in Canada and we have received our file number from the embassy saying the file number and wait for our reply.
Now i want to apply for Temporary work permit in Canada, so will it be possible for me to put file and process will not conflict and create for my wife file.
As she mentioned me and my son as in her file?

Please help!!!!
