Hi all,

I am considering driving to the border to renew both my WP and TRV (Is this possible?). I have submitted an online application to renew my WP (LMIA exempt, same employer) on June 2 but because processing times are >100 days, I won't get it before the end of September. I need to travel soon so I can't afford to wait for a decision on my online application. My TRV expired with my work permit on June 30 and I am from a TRV-required country.

Am I eligible to apply for a WP renewal at the border even with an expired TRV?
Can I also apply for the TRV renewal at the same time at the border?
Should I mention that I submitted an online application as well? I don't mind paying again, but I don't want the officer to tell me that I should wait for a decision on the online application.

Please help me with your comments. Thanks!

No.

ANd in fact first you need your WP and then with that one on hand then you submit the TRV application.

Do you know if I can apply at least for the WP at the border with an expired TRV? Thanks!

No - you can't.

Any ideas on how to obtain a TRV (once I get my WP renewed) without having to wait the regular processing time for online applications (20 days)? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!!!

Look for programs like CAN+

If not then you will have to go through the whole process as everyone else.

Not possible from inside of Canada. OP's visas have already expired and he is on implied status. His only option is to either wait within Canada for the work permit and trv to be approved - or apply from outside of Canada

Bad luck then....
