Can I (32M) get a work permit on my wife's (27F) study permit?

Since our CRS score is less we are considering studying masters, instead of spending money on both of our education, we decided that its better if my wife studies while I work (As she is younger that will help in her EE profile). Since IRCC site says we can apply for open work permit for dependents on a study visa.
I was wondering has anybody gone through this experience? Also what factors should we consider in the application to get this done.

I see. Thanks for the input, I wonder how they choose whom to select for the work permit.

They approve applicants who meet the requirements, i.e. are they confident that you are in a genuine relationship and will return to your home country afterward?

The selection criteria is not public but it partially has to do with the ability to support yourselves. You’ll need to show extra funds. People studying advanced degrees like masters and PhD tend to have spouses approved more frequently than other degrees.
