My mum is indian currently in india she visited canada in 2007 and was here for 2 yrs. Is she eligible to apply under this program ?

Did she remain in Canada on a TRV?

If yes, when was the TRV issued?

Yes she was on trv and extension... it was originally issued April 2007 can't remember exact day.

I kept renewing it then cic decided not to renew it anymore.

She can apply under the CAN+ program. Like I've mentioned earlier, it only expedites visa processing (although it doesn't seem to be the case for some recent CAN+ applicants).

As her previous TRV was issued more than 10 years ago + she stayed for two years, she'll need to work hard to prove her strong ties to India/UAE + financials + her intention to visit for a short time. Else, you can apply for a super visa instead

Ive heard success rate for super visa is pretty low... and we did apply in 2014 and it got rejected

There are no quantitative statistics available for the success rate for TRVs or super visas.

Your mom's chances would depend on a number of factors which are assessed for a super visa

Also just wondering how you count the 10 yrs... I thought it goes yr to yr 2007-2017 still 10 yrs? or from the day she left in 2009?

I have come across two possibilities (based on IRCC information):
1. 10 years from the date the TRV was issued, or

2. 10 years from the date of travel/entry on the TRV


In your mom's case, both possibilities are pretty close date-wise i.e. 2007. So, it won't be 2009
