Dear all,

I just graduated from a Canadian university with a Bachelor degree (four-year program of study) in this May. And I will start a one-year full time diploma in this October in a recognised Canadian institute. The diploma is not post-graduate, i.e. it does not require a Bachelor's degree to enter into it.

My question is if I apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) after I graduate from the one-year diploma program next year, how many years of work permit will I receive? Can my education from two degrees be accumulated and thus allow me for a three-year PGWP?

Thank you very much for your time!

Dear, you can apply PGWP on behalf of degree. if you apply work permit on bachelor so you definitely get 3 year PGWP and if you will complete 1 year Diploma and you will apply on behalf of it. you will be eligible for one year PGWP.

Yes! In my opinion you are eligible for 3 Year PGWP.
Your total study period is 4+1=5 year, however, your are eligible only for 3 year PGWP, As CIC says
PGWP issued for the length of the study program, up to a maximum of three years.
For example, if you graduate from a four-year degree program, you could be eligible for a three-year work permit

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp

After completing your one year diploma, you will be eligible to obtain one year PG-WP only.

You can not accumulate the length of two separate degree, diploma or certificate programs for PG-WP. You get 90 days after completing the study program to apply for PG-WP.
