I had applied for my PR renewal in August 2013. It has been approved mid of October. However I have not received the PR card. Since I am travelling to US for a conference on Nov 15- 20th, called up the CIC service center to find out when I shall get the PR cards. Seems it has gone to Production and I shall only get it the week I am travelling.
They asked me to check up with the offices at NY or LA to get a Travel Document issued..Seems the processing time for that is one month and I don't have much time.
Is it possible for CIC to expedite the production of my PR card instead...??
The other choice I have is to return in a private vehicle (My car, rental car etc)..Based on the CIC Website, I do not need a permanent resident card, need to show Record of Landing (IMM 1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688) instead. Planning to take other relevant documents with me. I have already completed 1300+ days in Canada and my citizenship application is in process.
Confused.
Suggest what I would need to do next.
