Hello all,

I want to know if Experience gained under work permit in Canada 4 years ago be used for FSW category ? I know it cannot be used for CEC as the exp needs to be in last 3 years preceding the application. Can someone throw some light.

Thanks

Hi when exactly you gained the experience ??
For FSW its within last 10 years

for CEC 3 years!!

I gained from 2013 to 2014 not sure if I can apply for cec in 2016 ??

I have gained experience in 2015. Now I am going to start a two year program in States in December. I am wondering if the experience gained in 2015 be used as FSW if I want to apply later.

If this is the case, then, you should try to use one year of FSW experience after your 1st year in the states and 1 year of Canadian experience that you have gained in 2015. By doing so,you will end up getting more points according to the current express entry system, although you would be using only 2 years of experience.However, the system would change in some or the other way by the time you acquire on year of experience in the states!
At the same time, I am not sure whether you can use your Canadian experience as foreign work experience after 3 years!

It will not count towards your FSW score, however, it will count in your EE CRS score.

From the Ministerial Instructions:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp

"Canadian work experience
(3) For the purposes of this section, Canadian work experience is work experience that

(a) is acquired by a foreign national in Canada in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix;
(b) consists of full-time work experience, or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience, with one or more employers; and
(c) is acquired within the 10-year period preceding the day on which points are assigned to the foreign national under subsection (1).
