I and my wife are permanent residents of Canada for a while. My wife is now 3 months pregnant and we are thinking about bringing her aunt for emotional / personal support during the labor as neither my mom nor her mom can not travel due to their individual health issues . In this case, Aunt is my wife's mom's elder sister whom we are planning to bring here for the period of 3 months. But the real problem in her case is, she is a widow (age: 68 plus + no education background) and doesn't have any child as her son passed away some years ago. I can show enough bank balance for me and deposit enough money at her India account for satisfying the funds requirements. However she does not have any property or assets in India. The disappointing thing based on what I heard about Visitor visa's for non parents is, the VISA officer will definitely deny/reject if there is no proper tie or assets in back-home for the visitor to showcase that they will go back after the trip.

Can I present the case to bring her here to support my wife during pregnancy or what is the best case scenario to bring our Aunt here.I am seriously looking for some guidance / opinions in bringing our Aunt to Canada in a couple of months.

You can certainly present the case. Whether the visa officer processing the TRV request considers it, is another story. Nobody here can tell you for sure, the only way to know is for her to try to submit the TRV app and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply ROB. I am going to take an attempt for sure but right now in a confused state about what to put in the invitation letter. Can I say something like she is going to come here to provide moral support to my wife? What other additional tie ups I can add to her application to increase the chance of approval.

Maybe include reasons why immediate family are not able to travel due to health issues and you have no immediate family in Canada so your aunt is wanting to provide emotional support to your wife in the latter stages of pregnancy that would normally come from her mother. So this is a compassionate application , she will plan to arrive with a return ticket, will be supported financially by yourself, will leave shortly after the birth and given her age as well will have travel insurance. Only by applying will you find out and also be specific about the time you want your aunt to visit, dont be too ambitious in terms of months.

Thanks for your guidance BS. In terms of timeline I am thinking about applying for 3 months. Would that be too long for this application ?
Also, I am going to call Gynacologist's office to see if they can provide any supporting letter to submit to immigration department to bring my aunt here. Have you heard any procedures in past like obtaining a letter from medical providers will support the application (because my wife had cancer in critical illness in the past)?
