Can a person on work permit can marry a tourist

Hi All,

Currently iam working in canada on a work permit and due to certain circumstances my girlfriend has to move out of her family. We are planning to get married.

Can she come to canada on tourist visa and get married to me ?
can we apply for inland spouse sponsorship once we get married?
What would be the legal complications and what are the documents that are needed to be submitted?

Yes - if her tourist visa is approved, she can come to Canada and marry you here.

One of you has to be a Canadian citizen or PR in order to apply for inland spousal sponsorship. Since neither of you are a PR or citizen, you cannot apply.
