I have gone through the requirements of open work permit, and I found that it requires minimum 6 months balance temporary residence period. So can I avail visitor visa for more than six months? and once i get, can i apply for open work permit. Sharing link below from candian site. Pls assist and clarify.

holding a temporary resident permit valid for at least 6 months

The answer is no.

You are confusing TRVs and TRPs. These are two completely different things.

A visitor visa is a TRV. This rule does not apply to TRVs.

A TRP is a special class of visa that is for those who are inadmissible to Canada, typically due to a crime. The rule you have quoted only applies to TRPs.

If you are in Canada on a visitor visa, you will not qualify for a open work permit.

1. It is TRP, which is a Temporary Resident PERMIT, not a TRV which is a visitor visa. So the answer is no.
