Can a permanent resident outside canada travel on a valid visitor visa ?

Hi All,

Would like to know if a permanent resident, who has not received a PR card yet and who is currently outside Canada can travel on a visit visa stamped in the passport, which is valid till June 2019, to collect PR cards ?

Would appreciate any help in this regard.

Assume it won't be possible. The visitor visa has almost certainly been canceled in the system (even if it doesn't show as canceled in your passport). You need either a PR card or PR Travel Document to return to Canada directly. Alternatively you can fly to the US and re-enter Canada by land.
