You will have to obtain a US visa, probably H1B Look at the instructions at one of the US consulates in Canada's web sites. http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/usa_visa.asp

Nothing much you can do on your end. Your employer must be willing to sponsor your H-1B visa.

I guess you are coming from the free entry point. Only Canadian Citizens can enter into US but they cannot work there. For a PR - Canada you will require a visa.

Always remember it is based on the passport that you hold.

Thanx all for the reply...

Hi All,

Just a quick question on the same lines...I know that for employment unless you are a canadian citizen you need an H1B but what about tourist visa. I already hold a valid B1 issued to me in India. Now if I move to canada can I use the same B1 to visit relatives in the US or do I need to reapply for a B1 or some other visa? Also will there be anay relaxation in the rules given the fact that though I'm an Indian Citizen I am also a Canadian Resident??

All the Best & God Bless
Cheers,
Rishab

rishabshanker,
You can use the same B1 to visit US from anywhere in the world provided it is a multiple entry visa ...
You do not have to reapply for another visitor visa.

People,

This is an interesting thread now i have one question if a canadian pr holder is working in usa on a h1b visa then...will his stay in usa be counted for the 3 yrs required for citizenship for canada....or not...pl reply.

If the PR holder is on a Canadian company's payroll and the Canadian company sends the PR holder to USA on H1 visa it can be counted towards your Citizenship.
On the other hand, if the PR holder works for a US company directly, then NO.
