IF SOMEBODY LOST HIS PERMENANT RESIDENCY CARD BUT HIS CHILDREN GOT CITIZENSHIP BY BIRTH DOES THIS GUARANTEE THE PARENTS COULD ENTER CANADA AGAIN WITH THEIR CHILD AND GET THEIR CARD AFTER THEY LOST IT

ORRRR THEY HAVE TO WAITE THE CHILD TO BE 18 AND GOT JOB IN CANADA TO SPONSOR THEM??

The child couldn't sponsor until they are 18 and meet the local income cutoff figure in earnings from Canadian sources.

Hi there,

If you are currently a Permanent Resident of Canada, and have simply *lost* your card, I believe you just need to contact Citizenship & Immigration Canada to inform them of your situation and apply for a new card. If your status is still valid, they will certainly have this on record and will be able to help you.

This is from CIC's website:

"You need to replace an expired (or due to expire), lost or stolen Permanent Resident Card

Lost, stolen, destroyed or expired immigration documents issued by the Government of Canada can be replaced. To have documents replaced, you must complete an application and pay the $50 processing fee.

If your Permanent Resident Card is lost, stolen or destroyed, immediately contact the Call Centre. If your card has simply expired (or is due to expire), you do not need to contact the Call Centre.

You will have to complete an application for a new Permanent Resident Card. Follow the steps for How to apply for your Permanent Resident Card on this page."
Correct me if I'm wrong... Good luck!

Follow PMM advice.
Child should be 18 years old (not 21) before he/she can apply to sponsor you. There is a minimum income earning that need to be met and presented in order to make your child eligible to sponsor you (as parents). However, it is a lengthy sponsorship process, when it comes to time line. The earning should come from the child's own work, productivity and employment. If you put millions in his/her account, this will not make any difference.

The process to sponsor parents takes approximately 5 years (it may take more or less time depending on the country the parents are applying from).

If you want a more specific time estimate, the processing time is currently:

39 months in Mississauga

PLUS

The processing time of your visa office outside of Canada. The times for each country are listed here:

39 months in Mississauga + approximately 25 months in Damascus. So about 64 months total. These are approximate times only and no - nothing is ever guaranteed.

Do not go the fake job route. CIC verifies this information by looking at income tax data and will be able to tell very easily and very quickly if your child has lied about their income.
