Gurus ,

I became Canadian Permanent Resident in Nov. 2014 but due to my work assignments abroad I could not stay in Canada longer and went back to work. Now after almost 2 years later my project completed and I came back to Canada and now applying for my spouse sponsorship.
I have the following questions:

1. Should I have a job in Canada to apply for my spouse ?
2. As I was absent from Canada for last 2 years, does that effect my bonding with Canada and does that effect my sponsorship application ?

Waiting for your expert Advice.

Since you only need to have 730 days, within each rolling 5-year period, residing in Canada, you should be fine.

You do not need to be employed, but you must show CIC how you will support your spouse without the need for Social Assistance.

Good luck!
