Thank you all for your responses. My friend have just got a call not and email. However he spoke to VFS agent at Hyderabad and even they could not answer, according to them this is the first time they have heard this scenario. I will post you all once he get the passport.

probably there maybe an error which needs to be corrected to avoid problems for ur friend at port of entry or on arriving Canada. Tell ur friend to be calm. It is well.
