Hi all,
I have just returned back from a very successful and pleasing landing trip in Vancouver. I managed to open a bank account and issue a SIN. I have not applied for Medical Services Plan in British Columbia because the job market did not seem very appealing there and i wasn't sure if i will be living in Vancouver or not.

However, last night i received a missed call from Canada Revenue Services asking me to call them back. They made a reference to a certain correspondence they have sent me but i have not received it.

I received the call from number 250 405 4966 and a voice mail message was left suggesting me to call them back at 1 877 455 4966.

Any idea what this call is about? Of course i will call them back because i have nothing to hide but just wanted to be more prepared by checking if any of you have gone through a similar case.

Thank you,
Mohamed

Be aware sometimes these are hoax calls.

Remember one thing never share your SIN number neither DATE OF BIRTH.

This auto-message is legit.
Ive been receiving this auto-message a couple times on my work number.

I went to the official canada government website, called their number, talked to a couple people, and finally found that my account was fine.. but they were looking for my coworker (who previously had my extension).

I informed them he no longer works here, and they removed it from the auto-dial.
Ive informed him to call them himself.

I use to get calls on my home landline from Canadian Immigration (with desi accent) and Canada Revenue Agency (also with desi accent) straight after opening a bank account in TD Canada in Jean Talon Area.

At first, I use to say stop calling me. But they were pretty persistent that immigration would come at my door and arrest me. I asked for his badge number and the embassy where my case was handled. That's where I found out that douchebag was a scammer. So, I started playing with them. Use to give home landline to my parrot everytime they called... or put them on hold for long and put a comedy show on TV and laugh hysterically. All they wanted were my details and western union payment. Now, they'd stopped calling me.
