Hi all,

I had some work experience in my home town. but I am not sure whether it counts 3 years in EE system
(1) 2008-07-15 to 2009-6-30
(2) 2009-07-06 to 2011-08-31

Thanks,

by date. 1 year is defined as 365 days by CIC.

(1) 2008-07-15 to 2009-6-30 - 351 days (<1 year) - Does not count as must be continuous and less than 365 days
(2) 2009-07-06 to 2011-08-31 - 787 days (>2 years) Counts as 2 years

How many hrs per week were these jobs? To count the following must apply:

Full Time - 30 hrs per week (No extra points for >30 hrs per week)
Part Time - 15hrs per week (No extra points for between 15-30 hrs per week)

Thanks,

since the definition of "full time work" is 30 hours or more per week, CIC will usually count by FULL weeks (no rounding up of partial weeks - round down, always). There are 52 weeks in the year...

Assuming it was full-time work (30 or more hours per week), the VO will combine the total work experience to calculate points :

(1) 49 weeks - does not have to be "continuous" to count (e.g. earn points)
(2) 111 weeks - meets the 1 yr continuous requirement.

total 160 weeks ( / 52 = 3.07), just barely over 3 years of experience.

(You get the same results if you add up days - just over 3 years).

I cannot guarantee what a VO will do, but you should get credit for 3 years.

I think I will be in Trouble now : Might have to Withdraw Ontario PNP

1) 15th June 2014 - 25th Oct 2015 - Part time : worked varies from 20 - 30

2) 18th Aug 2014 - 13 June 2015 - Full time : 40 hours per week.

The total above is : 363 days ( Includes at PT Job)

3) 2nd Dec 2014 - 24th Dec ( Job is Current and Continuing to work here ) : 40 hours per week

One way for Calculation:

1) Part Time Job : 3 months (PT) & 8 months (FT)

2) Full Time Job : 3 weeks and counting

Other way for Calculation:

1) Part Time Job : 3/2 months (PT) & 8 months (FT) = 9.5

2) Full Time Job : 3 weeks and counting <1

Should I withdraw the profile ? I have not yet received the AOR

@luvanuj, how does Ontario calculate time worked. Do they only allow you to enter the start and finish work dates in the format of 'mm/yyyy' like CIC or do they enter the dates as 'dd/mm/yyyy'?

They do have 'dd/mm/yyyy'? . Plus all the reference letter would have start and end dates.

@luvanuj, if you only have 363 (not 365 days) you may have to withdraw, especially unlike CIC, Ontario wants the format 'dd/mm/yyyy'. they want this format for a reason. the only reason must be to calculate 'days' worked.

Wait for others to reply as well.

I also want to know since it was a part time job from June, July to Aug. Will this be calculated as 3 months of FT or will it be Calculated as 1.5 months.

To calculate the full-time equivalent (FTE) of part-time work, you have to add up all the hours and divide by 30 - literally you will have to go back and find the exact hours worked per week (or use the # provided on your Letter of Employment, as long as it is fairly close).

Unfortunately, working a part-time job at the same time as a full-time job gets you nothing additional beyond the "full-time" credit. So when calculating the full-time equivalent, you exclude the time that overlaps with your full-time job.

Just as an example, I'll assume 25 hours every week -

From 15th June 2014-17 Aug 2014 - this is 8 weeks, so 25 hours per week * 8 weeks = 200 PT hours.
From June 14 2015 - Oct 2015 is 15 weeks * 25 hours per week = 375 PT hours,
Total of 575 PT hours / 30 = 19 weeks FTE (I'm rounding down).

2) 18th Aug 2014 - 13 June 2015 - Full time : 40 hours per week.

= 47 weeks of full-time employment

3) 2nd Dec 2014 did you mean 2015?- 24th Dec ( Job is Current and Continuing to work here ) : 40 hours per week

Assuming you meant 2015 - I'll say 3 weeks.

All 3 jobs combined:

19+47+3 weeks = 69 weeks, credit for 1 year of experience.

Opps yes I meant 2015.

( PT Notification Received on 24th Nov 2015)

and based on this information below don't think they will take into consideration my current job.

If you choose to be assessed against the CEC criteria, OINP requires that you have a minimum of one year of cumulative and full-time employment (1,560 hours or more) or an equal amount in part-time paid work experience in a NOC 0, A, or B occupation in Canada in the past three years from the date of the PT notification of interest from OINP.

Agreed, so less 3 weeks gives you 66 weeks total, you still meet the 1 yr requirement.

But the problem is 3 months of part-time work done before starting full-time work.

Sorry, it's not clear what you mean, or why you think that's a problem...

I worked part-time for 3 months = 20hours.
I started working after that as a full timer for 9 months.
Since I worked part-time, they will only consider the work as 1.5 months of full time and not 3months.

1.5 + 9 = 10.5 months of full time experience
