Hi,

The question is regarding evaluating the financial capacity to sponsor someone. If I use the online chart or online calculator on Quebec website, my wife basic needs are calculated twice as her undertaking is still in effect. Since she is a part of my family unit and her undertaking is still in effect, what will be the correct amount that I need to show in order to sponsor.

My family: Me + Wife (undertaking still in effect) and a child

Sponsored Person Family: 2 adults over 18 yrs + 1 dependant under 18 yrs.

Thanks

Your question is posed in a confusing way - I think that's why no one has answered.

However the answer is 6.

Thanks scylla. Not sure how to put it in a non-confusing way. Let me try

So according to Quebec website you have to show funds for

your own family unit + family of the person you are sponsoring + persons you already sponsored whose undertaking is still valid

If I use this formula it will be

Me, My Wife and 1 kid + My father, mother, 1 dependent + My wife again since her undertaking is still valid

This way my wife is counted two times and I have to show addtional 16K.

So I am not sure if this is the correct way to calculate for funds for Quebec in my case?

Hope this is less confusing now :P
