hi egca

well most cases got done in 5-7 monthes but some others take more than a year to be done ,, so evrycase has diferent conditions.

but my advice to you collect all evidance which help u to prove that ur relationship is genuin nt fake such as ,,, letters ,,cards ,, phone bills showing exchanging calls..,,pictures with family and friends ,,e mails ..print out some screen of chatting if u had if u come visit him in egypt and stay in hotel or apartment ,,u can get contract showing u participating the rent etc ,,,

just any thing u think it will help ,,,,GOOD LUCK

thank you so much! its releaving knowing that it could take about 5-7 months and not the 2 years as the government site says...still knowing that it could take that long....but knowing that there are cases that are being processed in faster times is a great feeling. I have a question though, i dont know if it is possible; while the PR application is being processed, could i live in egypt? but i wouldnt have a house here? which i do belive i cant but if there is a way.....could anyone let me know?

Hi everyone, I'm gonna be applying soon to sponsor my husband who's in egypt now. Any idea if they're speeding things up and/or slowing them down there now because of the situation there? I'm trying to figure out how long it'll take before he can come here. Thanks.

Welcome Dooz to the Cairo group :)

All we know for now is that they just recently change the estimation time for an application from 13 months to 12 months and ZIEDAN2000 has been waiting for 10 months.

I guess it always depends on the case :)

Hi egca

I just checked the website and the time for application from the immigrant is 12 months. This has decreased by 1 month. Previously it was taking about 13 months. Sponsor approval is usually about 1 month.

Hope this helps.

Sheila

thank you sheila la

I have a question though, i dont know if it is possible; while the PR application is being processed, could i live in egypt? but i wouldnt have a house here? which i do belive i cant do this but if there is a way.....could anyone let me know?

I think the sponsor has to remain in Canada but can visit.. Correct me if I am wrong

I think you're right KSCM, nothing saying you can't visit for an extended period of time. Just make sure you have proof you will resettle in Canada once the application is approved.

Any other thoughts?

hii egca

ofcourse you can come stay in egypt while the PR application is being processed for ur spouse..i have never seen some thing saying different ,, especially canadian people got vist visa just in cairo airport very easy ,,, and once u get maried in egypt ,, ur spouse can extend the residence by marriage contracting

just at the end embassy might ask u profe that u will leave to canada when he get the PR visa

GOOD LUCK FOR YOU ,, and pray for me to hear some newssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

hi fox82

thank you and i hope you do hear some news!!

so you think i stay there while waiting for the application to be porcessed? even though i wont have a place here of my own then or a job? so does that mean i stay here until im a proved to sponsor and then go over? or am i way off? lol

hi egca

well sponsership will be done in 2 steps

1-first approval which means CIC-M agree that u sponsor ur hubby and they will send you a letter telling u that u met the rerquirments (this might happen in 30-40 days)or may be earlier

so u might wait in canada untill u get this letter then u move to egypt in same time YOU CAN MOVE TO EGYPT BUT THIS TIME U SET UR ADRESS TO WHERE U WILL STAY IN EGYPT SO THEY SEND U THIS LETTER

i know couple (canadian - egyptian) and both of them staying in egypt after they got married and have sent all application from egypt and got first letter approval to her adress in eggypt

2-PR visa ,, in this part, embassy in cairo will deal with ur hubby ,,, and ur part is over ,, unless it took so long so u can get in touch with the embassy or with ur MP to move ur case

so it doesnt matter where u staying egypt or canada it is all same

GOOD LUCK

I'm curious to see if someone had a change in their application status? :)

Mine is still at "application received" but I'm not expecting it to change soon! I started my process in January.

Hi Mels

Mine still says application recieved. I'm not sure it will get updated from what I've been reading on this forum. Some VO's do update, some don't.

hi, i need some help understanding about getting papers certified. My husband needs to get all his paper worked translated, my quesiton is when he gets it translated and they give him the affidavit, is that all that needs to be done? or does he still have to go some where to get it certified and/or noterized? from my understanding where he gets it translated, the affidavit is the certification that it is a true document and that is it? can some one please help me understand.
