Re: Caipsnotes received NEED to understand

From the notes, it is not clear that they have accepted the verification from the university that the documents are genuine. The file appears to have been returned to "FH", probably the officer who originated the procedural fairness letter in response to which you sent the letter from the university. That person's review may not yet be complete.

Also, it says the file is not ready for the selection decision (approval) so further review is necessary.

You have some more waiting to do for the officer's analysis of the letter from the university, would be my guess.

Re: Caipsnotes received NEED to understand

I disagree - it does seem clear to me that they received the letter from the university verifying that the document was genuine on 25Nov2010. For whatever reason, though, it appears that the file was then sent to "BA" for SELDEC on 20DEC2010, but was determined not to be ready for SELDEC and sent back to AF Unit for further analysis on 17JAN2011.

Not sure what the AF Unit is, or what they look after but it's been there for a long time. I think I'd get your MP's office involved to try to get some answers for you, especially if your case has exceeded the "normal" processing timeline for your embassy.

Re: Caipsnotes received NEED to understand

I agree that they received the letter from the university, what I am positing is that they have not made a decision on whether they are accepting the verification.

The file has been referred back to "FH" (received the verification letter) after being assigned to "BA" on his/her request (to make the selection decision?). FH is expected to perform further reviews before passing the file on to the Canadian-Based Officer (CBO).

In accounting/auditing (what I do), AF Unit typically refers to "Anti-Fraud Unit"...what it means in Canadian Immigration parlance, I am not certain, and could not find anything on it on CIC's website.

Re: Caipsnotes received NEED to understand

Thanks for reply i did the MP inquiry 6 months ago on 28-Jan-2011 and had received the following info. Time line of our case as follows

Sponsored in MAY 2005
Approved in AUG 2007
Submitted Doc in CHC Islamabad JAN-2008

G'morning,
This is to advise that we hope to finalise this case within the next 6 weeks.
Have a great weekend,
Best regards,

Immigration Section
Canadian High Commission
PO Box 1024, Islamabad, Pakistan

THEN i sent the inquiry again to MP 45 days ago and they replied

Dear XXX,

I spoke with Ministerial Services at CIC regarding your mother's application. Apparently, there was an email to Mr. Oliphant's office that said “we hope” to have the case finalised within 6 weeks but this has not happened.

Currently, the office in Islamabad is aware of the file and is following it closely. Background checks and verifications still have to be performed. CIC suggested that we enquire again at the end of August to see if the background checks have been started.

If you have not heard anything from CIC by the end of August then please contact our office.

Sorry, there is not better news concerning your mother's application.

Sincerely,

Office of John Carmichael MP

lmao AF means anti fraud but those airlines names a funny makes light of the situation

Since your letter says the file was returned to the AF Unit, I would also think it must means "Anti-Fraud", since that is where it had been before. And the first line presumably means "please prepare misrepresentation pro forma". It looks like they are still investigating your degree.

i also notice these line on the last pages i did not post on my question.
