Hi all,

Just a little FYI. If anybody is waiting on CAIPS notes that they ordered recently, you might be in for a bit of a wait. I just received my CAIPS notes yesterday (the letter was dated Feb 1, 2010) and they received my request all the way back on Nov. 27, 2009. Two full months. I did not receive any form of correspondence throughout that entire time. It appears (not surprisingly) that Christmas and New Year's slowed the processing down rather significantly and has created somewhat of a backlog.

Hope that helps if anybody is waiting anxiously for theirs to come!

Hi saima123. Yes, before the CAIPS notes actually start, there are three additional attached pages:
1) Cover letter
2) Privacy Act exemption explanation page
3) Record Correction Request Form

In the cover letter to me, they say "Certain information qualifies for exemption pursuant to section(s) 21, 26 of the Privacy Act, a copy of which is enclosed for your information." According to the Privacy Act sheet, Section 21 concerns "International Affairs and Defence" while Section 26 is regarding "Information About Another Individual". So, the particular sections exempted are different for you and me, but it seems like these types of exemptions are common. Perhaps the particular sections that are affected are based on your particular application.

My CAIPS notes came as a hard copy, not on a CD.

Hope that helps!
