CAD Currency card to bring?

Hi - coming from India on a Open WP. Does anyone have any idea should i bring a Axis bank CAD card while coming or a normal INR debit card (for eg., Citibank) is also ok? Will the normal INR Debit card give CAD currency when used in Canada? If I need to bring a CAD card, how much cash i should load (approx) for the first 1-2 months? I am guessing around 4-5K CAD should be enough. No?

If the INR debit card itself will dispense CAD in Canada, then i need not worry about making another CAD card, but not sure about at what exchange rate it will dispense me Canadian dollars.

Newcomers - let me know your first hand experience how you planned?

Hello Vineet,

If u bring normal debit card u can't get CAD$.
Axis Bank Card quite OK becoze it's preloaded currency card, u have to pay extra for service tax + other while loading.

U cn use debit card for shopping but here also u have to pay more & becoze bankers are very smart they will definately charge u with n numbers of reasons.

So, i can still continue to use my Internatioanl CC and DC. Right? Anyway, i make all CC pymts online. So, dont see any reason to cancel all of them before coming (was thinking actually). Especially, cards like AMEX i dont wnat to cancel!!
