Hi All,

This is Vinod . I am new to this forum. How are you guys ?

Basically I am from India but for the past two years I am living in US.

I am planning to apply for Canadian PR .. I have few questions (i know these are the repeated questions but i don't know where to find the answers )

1. Shall I go with New Delhi Visa office or Buffalo Visa office ?

Problem here is my US visa will be over by this year end ...
So I will have to travel back to India by this year end and I am not sure when i will get the chance to come back to US again ...

2. If I apply through Delhi visa office

will they accept my current US residence address ? will they accept US police certificate ? will they aacept US bank statement ?

Or I will have to get everything from India ?

I have just started researching on Ca PR and I am new to this forum ... if the above questions are already answered some where please give me the links ...

Thanks again ...

You have the right to apply in the country of your nationality, no matter where you live.

As for police certificates, you need one from every country you have lived in for more than 6 months since you were 18 so you will need one from India as well as from the US as well as any other country you might have lived in for that long.

Answer: If you are unsure whether you can stay beyond a year in US, apply from Delhi.

Answer: Your US address, PCC, Bank statements will be acceptable.

Thanks Singh and Leon ...

So it seems i have to get PCC from both US police and India police ...

Have few more questions ...

is it ok applying without any help of any immigration lawyer ...

today my frnd advised me you will screwed up if you dont go through lawyer or consultant ?

question # 2 - I am just 41/2 years experienced will it be enough to go through the process ?

question # 3 - What if my current company dont give me experience certificate ? Is there any other way to overcome this ?

Please help me guys ...

I suggest you to go and do it yourself. Going through lawyer will squeeze all your money. You will be end up paying atleast 2500 bucks. If you are ok with it, then go ahead.

But, you have an excellent forum and people helping each other, you can always pitch in queries. its left to you.

Are you applying for any PNP ? 4 1/2 yrs is quite reasonable and that shouldn't be an issue

question # 3 - What if my current company dont give me experience certificate ? Is there any other way to overcome this ?

They won't ask for current company work experience, they will ask you recent paystubs from that company. If you have it until then (i.e., when you get queries from the Province / Consulate) then you are all set.

Please help me guys ...

You do not need a lawyer or a consultant. Maybe people do it themselves and even though some of them might do something wrong, there are also many people who are fooled by bad consultants and some have even lost their application because the consultant has advised them badly or been late with documents.

4 years experience is enough to get full points for work experience. You should ask your employer for an experience letter. If he refuses, try to at least get a statement from him that you are working there and since when. Also try to get a letter from another manager or at least a co-worker supporting that you work there and what you do there.

I had similar kind of questions as I am also a newbie. This forum is very useful..

1. Can we get the PCC from India through Indian Consulate at USA?? I was going through the Indian consulate website. They stated that it will take 60 days if everything goes well.. Is this how we need to get PCC from India?

2. Also regarding the work experience, the document clearly specifies what details need to be there in the letter. It requires a business card of the person signing it. That option is ruled out for me as there is no way I can get my supervisor's business card... Any suggestions, please....

Thanks.

1. If the Indian consulate in the USA says that you can get a PCC through them, then I am sure they are right. Do it. Different countries may have different procedures. In some countries you might have to deal with the police directly.

2. If you can not get your supervisors business card, then include a letter explaining that. It's very simple with immigration. You try to send what they ask for but if there are some things you can't get then you have to send what you have and explain and hope for the best.

Thanks for the answers Leon. I will do the same.

while filling IMM 0008 form, there is a question "Which part of the Canada you intend to live". As someone who will look for job after landing there, how should I approach this?

Note: I am not applying for any PNP.

Appreciate your help..

I am trying to get in touch with right people in my company (HR) and see what and how much information they can give... In addition to that, I am thinking of attaching my offer letter, pay slips for all these years and some other letters which tells I am working for ZZZ company for 'n' number of years..

And as Leon pointed out, a detailed letter along with that...

will that do?

It is difficult for me also to get the experience certificate ? I can produce my payslips thats it ...

I was going through the application forms yesterday and got few more doubts ... dont curse me guys ...

1. Form Schedule 3 - question # 6 (language)

I am yet to give IELTS exam but at the same time i dont want to postpone filing my applications ... is it advisable to file the applications without IELTS results ?

If so what kind of documents I need to submit to support my Language skills ...

2. Form Schedule 3 - question # 10 (Funds)

I am really confused to answer this question ... is there any minimum and maximum limit for this ? Do I need to include my solid assets also ?

3. Form Schedule 3 - question # 11 (Work experience)

Is it right to list more than one NOC's in the same form ? My experience suits more than one NOC's ... please suggest ...

4. Mailing address - Currently I am living in US ... I may go back to India this year end ... whats would be the right mailing address ? My current residence address or my India residence address or My frnd's US residence address ?
