Hi Folks,

I just want to bypass the language test. I know it is not required after 54 y.o. I was born in Sept 16, 1959 and now I am 54 y.o. When will I be considered 55 y.o? In another word when can I apply for citizenship w/o language test result. And what are the next steps in Citizenship process for the people 55 y.o?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
Meghan

If you were born on September 16, 1959 then you aren't 54 yet. You're 53. You'll turn 54 this coming September.

You will be considered 55 years old when you actually turn 55. If you want to avoid the language requirement then you will have to wait until after your 55th birthday to apply (after September 16, 2014).
