Hi:

I understood from CIC that I can only apply BOWP for principal applicant. I would like apply for my spouse too.

I have seen my friends got BOWP for their spouse, however they had job offer. But any of you have applied BOWP for spouse along with principal applicant and got approved?

Please need you experts suggestions.

Thanks

1. Unlikely. You have to be working in a NOC A,B or O job, then your spouse includes a copy of your job description with her application for a SOWP. If you are not working, then she is out of luck.

Hi orgchem,

I have applied bowp last dec 14, 2013 and got approved jan 3, 2014 along with my wife sowp. So yeah u can apply for bowp and at the same time your wife as sowp based on your bowp. Just include letter of explanation and other required doc. You can apply as long as your wp expires with in 4 months from the date u submit your bowp app. Might as well attched the AOR email that you received from cic. Goodluck.

You don't need any job offer document if you are applying for BOWP. I applied BOWP along with my spouse's OWP and son's visitor record extension application at the same time, only documents I submitted was their passport and option cover letter. With the the cover letter I attached copies of everyone's most recent immigration document (although not needed), AOR email and additional pages to cover last 10 years of employment history.

Thanks a lot for your information.

Technically, only the principal applicant (PA) is eligible for the BOWP. If you ( the PA) are eligible for the BOWP, then your spouse should be eligible for the SOWP (spousal open work permit). You can submit the applications together.
