Hi team,

Can someone please let me know if someone has clue that I am Canadian citizen, and applied for surrender certificate (yet to apply oci) , planning to buy property in India, is that possible through POA power of attorney if anyone did that, (also seller is in hurry meaning he can't hold off couple of months)

If anyone did the process of buying with poa option can please guide on this. Really looking for the pointer. Thanks,

curious as I too have to apply to surrender passport. How does it work for family inheritance? or if spouse has property in india and for eg. puts it in will for children or wife

If you don’t have an OCI, buying property in India as a Canadian citizen is still possible, but you’ll need to follow RBI regulations, which mainly allow NRIs to purchase residential or commercial properties, not agricultural land. It’s also a good idea to have a trusted local representative. If you're looking for real estate opportunities elsewhere, checking out https://wildsdubai.com might give you some interesting options in Dubai.
