Business Registration/ GST/HST account on OPEN WORK PERMIT. PR eligibility?

Hi Everyone,

I am a open work permit holder in canada, ontario. I have a registered business number/ GST/HST account as well. I want to know if I can also look for a fulltime job in Canada while my online business is running. Please help as I don't want to invalidate my work permit. I also wanna know if am successful in this online business and pay my taxes on time, will everything be okay?

Work permit holders typically cannot start a business in Canada without a business partner who is a Canadian citizen or PR. You should check with a lawyer before starting your business in Canada to ensure you are following the rules.

I've been told by my accountant about it that its okay to register the business. which is why I went ahead and registered a business as a sole proprietorship with a GST/HST account as well. I guess I may have to talk to a lawyer as well regarding this.
