Just got an after-thought. Have you explored with NDVO if they could give you your visa here. GCMS is a global system and files can be accessed from any where. Perhaps, you can explain your situation to both the Visa Offices and they may agree. If I had my PPR, I would have tried this using PPR e-mail.

I will have VO send stamped passport to my friend in US. I know somebody close who is coming to India in April. I will request him to carry it for me. I will let you know which route I choose.

No, I did not personally explore this option but I read Qorax mentioning it that it can not be done. I can definitely check with VO if that is possible. BTW, I am based in Bangalore.

Let's get busy figuring out how we can send PP to NYVO. You had the option of going to US and get it done in-person...isn't it?

Dear friends,

Thanks for the congratulatory messages and I reciprocate with my best wishes to all of you. I did my medical in India on 7 January and my updated docs (IMM0008 etc)+RPRF+original PCC from India) reached NYVO on 1 February 2012 and PPR mail is dated 9 February. I will now fly to NY to get my visa "In Person" for which I am sending a mail to NYVO explaining my location/situation and seeking permission. This has been tried and done by at least 3 forum members here. Their experience was to reach at NYVO at 08:00 am to submit their passports and they got stamped visas in afternoon of the same day. I will do the same. I am also thinking of personally going to NDVO on Monday to check if it can be done in New Delhi.
