Does IRCC put extra effort on case like this? family business hires family members? Because it looks pretty similar to what many fraud immigration companies here in Canada have been doing.

Fraud companies :o

Yeah I am sure they would put an extra effort so they can find marijuana in my application! Man, wonderful comments.

This is not faking actually. Since he is expanding, he needs officer manager/accountant for him. So, there is a legitimate need for it.

Do you have CPA certification. If not, I wonder how your brother would justify to hire someone from overseas without CPA certification instead of local employee. Put yourself in the position of CIC. Would you believe that this is genuine job position and not a fraudulent job created just to receive LMIA.

You CANNOT receive CPA certification from overseas. I have membership of another accountancy body.

Well, if that is the reason your brother is going to give to CIC, then I just wish you good luck...

The reality is you have a next to nothing chance of getting approved for a LMIA in this case. It is not believable that your brother would be unable to fill this post locally not to mention the comments another poster made about a company that size needing an accountant. Try another route or you risk getting your brother and yourself in trouble.

Well it appears the chances are going to be NIL with me applying.

I guess I will wait till his business grows more and if he requires Business development or Software development people so I can have my wife apply who works as a software developer.

Thanks all for responses!

By the way, I mentioned Office Manager/Accountant. The things an Officer Manager and Accountant can do for an IT company:

1) Help develop Accounting Softwares
2) Help develop Payroll and related services softwares
3) Help maintain books from scratch and assist in legal compliance (After some learning of course)

I think what would be better is to see what job code fits better.

I'm not saying your brother's company is a fraud, but that's how fraud companies are operating.

By the way, that's also not how LMIA should work, because everyone here can just start a business and sponsor his/her whole extended family from overseas to come to Canada.

I don't think Office Manager or Accountant should code and develop softwares or any IT related things.

Not coding my man. Coding I cannot do if my life depended on it. You need accountants who sit down with IT people to develop accounting softwares if you know what I mean.

Yep, basically giving requirements and use cases to Devs. Those are still not daily duties for an Accountant. I also doubt that an IT company with two employees can develop a fully working Accounting software to compete with the existing ones, like Quickbooks or Sage. Therefore, I think your brother might have a hard time to convince IRCC to issue an LMIA for you.
