I need a clarification on the experience of my work for Canada skilled federal migration.

I am a civil engineer, I have graduated on September 2011 but I have started to work from July 2011 because of the strike happened in my university before the graduation ceremony and after completion of my academic program.

I have started work with a particular company on July 2011 to March 2012 (09 Months) then I have resigned my job and started to with a another company on April 2012 - May 2013 (01 year) then after I have decided to go Qatar but I went on September 2013 where I have a break ( June 2013 - September 2013) of my experience due to delay of my visa process. I have worked in Qatar up to March 2014 (05 Months) and came back to my country due my personal problem. After came from Qatar I have started my work on June 2014 and still working with there. Here also I have break (March 2014 - May 2014).

15th July 2011 - 30th March 2012 - worked (having pay slip and experience letter) (09 months)

01 April 2012 -30 may 2013 - worked (having pay slip and experience letter) (12 months)

01 June 2013 - 19th September 2013- Break (3.5 months)

19 September 2013 - 03 March 2014 - worked in Qatar (no pay slip and no experience letter) (5.5 Months)

03 march 2014 - 19 June 2014 - Break (3.5 Months)

19 June 2014 - Upto now working (14 months)

Can I claim 02 years of working experience from above history of my work.

Pls explain me how my break will impact my assessment and pls let me know any suggestion if any????

Don't worry about break in career. You can claim experience as shown below.

1. You are eligible for EE on the basis of your 12 months of continuous work experience from Apr '12 till May '13. That reference letter is the MOST critical for you. Pay slip and experience letter won't suffice to prove the NOC you were working under - you will need a reference letter dtailing your roles & responsibilities.

2. You can claim 3+ years of experience for CRS purposes. Make sure you get reference letters from all these organizations to prove the NOC of these jobs. Each reference letter should clearly indicate your roles & responsibilities, job title, working hours/week, salary etc and signed by supervisor/HR.

3. For FSW eligibility, you can only count work experience gained under 1 NOC (primary NOC). Depending on that, you will get 9 to 15 points for work experience on the FSW 100 point grid. You will need at least 67/100 to qualify under FSW. As mentioned above, you will need detailed reference letters to prove this as well.

Hope that clarifies. All the best!
